Part II’s pictures will focus on Mermaid Lagoon, and it’s a rather dimly-lit area. We used to take photos there using a Canon Ixus camera years ago and the photos did not turn out well. I think you’re supposed to have totally non-shaky hands when taking the pictures, or get a camera with higher ISO. I’m a photography idiot, so I am not sure about the reasons for the lousy photos in the past. Anyway, we bought a new camera last year, a Fujifilm F10 or F100 or F20 (I don’t remember the exact model), and it claims to have wide-angled lens with high ISO settings. That camera is definitely serving us well at such dark places. At least the photos now appear much nicer.
Another Fujifilm photo spot. This is taken at Mysterious Island.
We headed to Mysterious Island first because of gyoza sausage bun. Everytime we’re at Disneysea, we are bound to see a queue for these buns at Mysterious Island’s Refreshment Station. Hmm. Turned out to be disappointing, nothing fantastic. There was no real sausage, just the bun on the outside layer and the inside was some steamed minced meat, a little like our chinese meat buns.
Walking into my favourite themed land of Disneysea –> Mermaid Lagoon. Definitely a cool and welcoming shelter from the heat outside. You will see later that we kept choosing here as a place to rest throughout the day. There is aircon indoors and lights are also dim, so comfortable!
My cute husband playing with the dunno-what-fish. I think he’s so creative at posing yet he hates to be taken pictures of. 🙂
Come, follow me into the dark Mermaid Lagoon…
While walking down a slight slope inwards, you will see some interesting displays, all marine-related.
I’m not pretty like Little Mermaid and I don’t belong to the sea, but I definitely like it here! It’s colourful and cooling in there.
Btw, those spinning “teacups” constitute the ride “The Whirlpool”.
Just posing for the fun of it. The lights made my skin look blu-ish as well.
Taking a break at Sebastian’s Calypso Kitchen, one of the best eating places in Disneysea. Seats aplenty here and we can also enjoy the aircon environment while eating rather tasty food. In this picture, I was about to drink my favourite milk and try out their clam chowder. The clam chowder was surprisingly quite nice!
There is a “play” area inside Mermaid Lagoon, more for little children to run around in those cave holes. We went in just to see see look look. There was this slimming mirror that can distort one’s appearance and make one slimmer.
Another photo taken before we left Mermaid Lagoon.
We had to move on to other areas outside, although it was blazingly hot. No wonder why there are more freckles on my cheeks now. Tsk tsk.
